At a price that goes down nice and easy...

This lovely tower of goodness come courtesy of the Piece of Cake Bakery LLC, based in Phoenix.
I am hoping to hire them to bake this exact cake for my reception. The ribbons and flowers match my laveder-sage green themed wedding perfectly!

Not only that, but their prices start at a more-than-reasonable $3.50 per person. Because i am inviting 75 people or less, I couls have this beauty for well under $300!!

I am going to schedule a tasting for the week after next, and hopefully walk away with another vendor secured!

These favors are perfect with my spring-fling theme of lavender and sage-green. I found them at FavorFavor:

DIY: Our Save The Dates

DIY is now synonymous with the word wedding for me.

Creating many of your own items for your wedding not only personalizes the event so much more, but it can save you a bundle to boot (and I am all about the thrift, y'all.)

To that end, may I present my self-designed Save-The-Dates?

I wanted something modern and unique, and using the colors lavender and spring green, which are the wedding colors (tres spring, n'est-ce pas?)

All that's left now for me to do is to create a template, carry it down to Kinko's and let them print and cut, and pick up envelopes!!!

Target-ing The Thrifty Bride: Me Likes!

I <3 Target.

So, when I found out they were debuting their bridal line, designed by the uber-fab Isaac Mizrahi no less, I was super excited!

The dresses are simple, elegant and perfect for a vow renewal. I like the fact that I won't be buried under tons of tulle and other fabric, no one will confuse me with the wedding cake (tons of frothy fabrics) or looking like the typical cookie-cutter bride. Some may say this is taking bridal budgeting to the extreme, but I am thinking about the entire event this way:

We don't have an unlimited budget to spend on this wonderful event, and we have to make some really smart decisions to pull it off by March.

I want to focus the bulk of the budget on obtaining a really great venue and a excellent photographer. I want to have memories, pictures that really capture the day, the feel -- and I want more to look at than a handful of posed, not-that-great photos and a dress I will wear only once and more than likely donate to charity afterwards.

I guess everyone's priorities are different. Those are mine.

And if I can't make that dress look good, no amount of tulle and froth will help me look any better.
